Eric
Ferguson
has been
taking
photographs
since 1971.
From his
early beginnings
with a
Kodak Instamatic
and now
using an
Olympus
OM 1n,
Eric photographs
landscapes,
water,
boats,
cars, trucks,
buildings
and anything
else that
looks interesting
and different.
Eric has been enlarging and framing his own photos since 1976, initially intended as gifts and now in a business capacity. He started making his own frames in the mid-1990's. Today, Eric creates profiles for frames and has them milled. He then hand rubs the finish, glues the frames, cuts his own acid free mats and installs high grade glass that offers extra UV protection. All assembly work is carried out by Eric personally.
Through university Eric worked on survey crews across Canada, and the raw beauty of the country from Newfoundland through to the Yukon and the Northwest Territories led him to start photographing landscapes.
Today,
Eric is
married
and has
three children.
The family
skis in
Collingwood
Ontario
and spends
time during
the summer
at Eric's
family
cottage
on the
Rideau
Lakes north
of Kingston,
Ontario.
These locales
have provided
the inspiration
for many
of the
photos
Eric has
taken.
